This book, the latest by Pedro Peñas Y Robles, aka HIV+, is the last in a trilogy first published in French by Camion Blanc Editions. The first book of the trilogy published in 2018 was about Joy Division, the second about Nick Cave, and today the trilogy concludes with this vibrant tribute to Nitzer Ebb. This band, pioneers of electronic music, notorious for their blunt sequenced bass lines and totalitarian vocals, have strongly influenced the Techno, EBM and Electro Pop scene, as well as internationally renowned bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, The Prodigy, Gesaffelstein and Rammstein.
This personal, well documented work is the first ever biography to be written about the British cult band, Nitzer Ebb, who were signed to Mute Records and toured the world with Depeche Mode. It contains accounts by the band members themselves, as well as interviews with some of their earliest fans and artists from the Techno-Electro scene, (Terence Fixmer, The Hacker, David Carretta, Djedjotronic, Millimetric, Pylon Records...) who talk about Nitzer Ebb’s influence on their careers and musical vision. It provides the author’s intimate insights into the history of EBM spanning a thirty-year period weaving through the French and Spanish Techno scene.
